Three people from South Cheshire have been charged with human trafficking and a fourth with money laundering.

The charges follow an extensive investigation by Crewe CID and the Gangmaster Licensing Authority.

Officers executed warrants at five addresses in Crewe. Four men and two women were arrested.

Two men – Marcel Farkaz, 25, of Ruskin Road, Crewe, and Andrej Karicka, 37, of Richard Street, Crewe, were charged with trafficking offences.

Vera Farkasova, 23, of Ruskin Road, was also charged with trafficking offences. A second woman, Silvia Karicka, 33, of Richard Street, was charged with money laundering.

All four appeared before South Cheshire Magistrates yesterday (September 8) to face the charges.

A 40-year-old man and a 30-year-old man have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The investigation is being carried out in conjunction with the UK Human Trafficking Centre.
