Nantwich Library will celebrate National Poetry Day with an exclusive show by one of the UK’s most renowned performance poets Tony Walsh – AKA Longfella.

Tony (pictured) is a “true giant” of the performance poetry scene while performing everywhere from The British Library to The Glastonbury Festival.

His work has been published on both sides of the Atlantic as well as displayed with an LS Lowry image at Tate Modern and The British Museum as part of the “Best of British” exhibition.

Tony is the current Manchester Literature Festival Comedy Slam Champion and was the runner-up in “The Times” UK Allstars Slam Final at Cheltenham Literature Festival in 2008.

The Nantwich performance will take place on Thursday October 6 at 7pm with an open poetry mic session for anybody willing to perform their own verse.
