Town councillors and rotary chiefs have backed plans to attract more coachloads of visitors to boost Nantwich town centre’s economy.

Peter Saunders, Chairman of Rotary Weaver, has sent a letter to 300 UK coach companies who either use the M6 or come to destinations close to Nantwich.

The letter highlights Nantwich Town FC’s car park (pictured) availability for coaches, and offers drivers a voucher of up to £5 for lunch.

The Rotary has donated £250 to the concept and Food Festival organisers have donated a further £100.

It costs £8 to park a coach at the Weaver Stadium ground for up to six hours and the meal vouchers are for £5.

Town Councillors have agreed to support the venture by offering up to £1,000 from this year’s budget to contribute to the coaches and drivers who actually come to Nantwich and take advantage of the offer.
