Salvation Army Trading Company’s Nantwich charity shop has launched a new customer loyalty card scheme.

It is designed to help customers’ budgets stretch further with a chance to earn up to £15 for shopping and donating.

The Beam Street shop’s free, double-sided “re:ward” loyalty card rewards customers each time they spend £5 in the shop or donate unwanted items using one of the shop’s reuseable “re:bags”.

Each time a customer spends £5 in-store, one side of their card entitled “re:visit” will be stamped. Ten stamps entitles customers to £5 credit to spend.

On the other side is the reward scheme for donations, which works with a 99p re:bag.

Each time a re:bag is brought in full of donations, a £2 stamp will be given.

Salvation Army Trading Company area boss Ann Penny said: “Each re:ward card is worth up to £15 to regular customers who can earn £5 for shopping with us and £10 for donating to us, although it can be used just for donating or shopping – there’s no requirement to use both sides.

“We’ve worked out each re:bag we receive full of donations is worth, on average, around £20.

“This could help provide a week’s support for a rough sleeper, a day’s vocational training at a Salvation Army day centre for 10 people to help them pursue new careers, or a much needed box of food for a family struggling with poverty at Christmas.”
