Teddy bear donation for Leighton Hospital children

Medical and nursing staff at Leighton Hospital have thanked members of a Freemasons group for donating over 10,000 teddy bears for child patients. The bears are given to poorly youngsters to comfort them while being treated at the emergency department at Leighton Hospital.

Nantwich councillors took a tour of the facilities at Nantwich Swimming Pool which is to get a £1.4 million revamp. Cllrs Arthur Moran and Penny Butterill, of Nantwich North ward, and Cllrs Peter Groves and Andrew Martin, of Nantwich South and Stapeley, all visited the Wall Lane pool this week.

Most schools across Nantwich will be closed tomorrow (November 30) along with public venues like Nantwich Baths as part of national strike action. All major teaching unions, including the headteacher’s NAHT, are involved in the strike which leaves thousands of youngsters in South Cheshire at home for the day.
