One of Nantwich Town’s players will be the focus for ITV cameras  in the build up to their FA Cup clash at MK Dons.

The cameras have filmed defender Mat Bailey to see how he balances playing with working for shirt sponsor County Insurance Consultants.

Mat works as insurance advisor for the Crewe firm, combining his full-time job with sporting commitments.

The 25-year-old turned professional at 16 and played for Crewe Alex, Stockport and Northwich Victoria before moving to the Weaver Stadium.

He was named man on the match in Northwich Victoria’s FA Cup 1-0 giant-killing defeat of Charlton, televised on ITV.

Mat said: “It’s been a big change for me but one that I’m really enjoying.

“Adapting to life in an office after being a full-time professional footballer has been an eye-opener but the team at County are brilliant and it’s been much easier than I expected!

“I am still a semi-professional footballer, playing for a great club like Nantwich who have a strong team and experienced manager in Jimmy Quinn.”

County Insurance director Tim Crighton (pictured, left) said: “We are very proud of Mat and the team’s achievement!

“We’re looking forward to travelling down to Milton Keynes to watch them play this important match.”

The programme is due to be aired on ITV Granada tonight (November 11) at 6pm.
