Crewe and Nantwich college students are hoping their garden will bloom next spring after selling their home grown plants.

Entry Level students at South Cheshire College staged a hyacinth pot sale in their Independent Living Flat.

The sale will help fund new plants and flowers for their sensory garden. The group also served up coffees and mince pies for staff and students as an early Christmas treat.

Entry Level programmes are for students with learning difficulties and disabilities and give them the chance to learn key life skills in a realistic setting.

The Independent Living Flat contains a kitchen, dining room, lounge and study area and bedroom and the sensory garden, situated directly outside the flat.

Fran Jones, Entry Level tutor and advanced practitioner, said: “The students have done themselves proud once again by organising this sale.

“Hyacinths are very popular and we were very pleased that staff and students came to support the sale.

“It gives the students a boost and fund new plants and flowers which they can grow in the garden.”
