Patrons of Nantwich Health Centre helped raised £1,095 with a series of coffee mornings held at the surgery.

Age UK Cheshire was at the health centre on nine dates in December.

They gave out free bags of Mornflakes porridge (pictured) as well as offering information, advice and leaflets to older people and their families on how to keep warm and well over winter.

The initiative was part of Age UK Cheshire’s Winter Warmth Campaign, which aims to encourage people to take better care of themselves – as well as look out for others – during the cold winter.

As well as porridge, Age UK Cheshire and patient panel members sold raffle tickets, Christmas cards and collectable items.

Items for the raffle were donated by local businesses and included restaurant vouchers, a photo frame, wine and chocolates.
