RedShift Radio has joined forces with organisers of the Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival to help promote this year’s event.

The Crewe-based community station will be hosting a roadshow on the main stage in Nantwich town square on the Saturday and Monday.

The festival, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the town, takes place over four Easter days from Good Friday to Easter Monday.

And this year organisers want Monday to be a family fun day – with street entertainment, face painting, Easter Egg Hunt and youth choirs around the square from 10am to 12.30pm.

There will be family entertainment from Katie Shotter, who supported Beyonce, and then the Cavern Beatles at 1.30pm.

Redshift will also be promoting the event on special shows including The Arts Hour with Danny Keen, Local, Live & Latest with Simon J. Newbury, and the Pick’n’Mix show presented by Hayley Strangelove.

More than 50 volunteer presenters work at Redshift alongside a small team of paid staff, and have been broadcasting over the internet since September 2010.

Liz Southall, co-founder, said: “The Jazz Festival has always been the highlight of my year living in Nantwich, to be involved this year and especially with the Family Day is a real treat.”
