Wyche Primary School, out of special measures

A Nantwich primary school is hoping to secure local sponsorship to help realise a dream of a modern ICT suite.

Staff at Wyche Primary need help to raise funds for the project which will replace out-dated equipment.

ICT subject leader Craig Simpson said they wanted youngsters to “embrace new technologies” and hope to create a learning studio with film and recording equipment as well as more modern computers.

He said: “We have a vision to enable pupils to use ICT to support and enhance their learning across all areas of the national curriculum.

“For example, we have recently introduced a school blog (wycheblogs.net) enabling pupils submit blog posts, extending their learning beyond the classroom.

“Our ICT suit currently contains computers that are very much in need of up-dating.

“We aim to convert this space into a personal learning studio, complete with our very own film studio and recording studio and facilities to create animations with computers, tablets and software to support this.

“This will both enhance and support our creative curriculum that we already have in place at Wyche Primary school and will improve the ICT skills of our learners.”

Any local companies that can help Wyche Primary should contact the school or governor Michelle Gauntlett at [email protected]

As an ex pupil of the Wyche I would love to see the school sponsored and gain the success it aspires to! Looking after the schools pupils once again! A great school and I thoroughly enjoyed my days there through the 80’s! Good luck Wyche! 🙂 xx
