Nantwich communities hoping to stage Diamond Jubilee street parties have until April 9 to apply for road closures.

Dozens of public and private celebrations are already planned across the Nantwich area on June 2-5 weekend to celebrate the Queen’s 60-year reign.

Nantwich Town Council is also staging a Big Lunch event on the Sunday June 3.

Cheshire East Council has also secured £50,000 of funding to help  groups pay for staging street parties and other events.

The Cheshire East website highlights events currently planned for Nantwich.

Jubilee Celebration Weekend, Bickerton Village Hall ( June 2-4)

The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and Rose Queen fete, Willaston (June 3)

Big Lunch and Street Party, St Mary’s Church, Nantwich (June 3)
