Nantwich Town goalkeeper Jonny Brain has made it into the Non-League Paper’s Top 20 goalkeepers.

In the latest edition, the exPort Vale and Macclesfield stopper was number 20 in its goalkeeping review of 2011/12.

Brain missed out on the number 1 slot in the Northern Premier League’s team of the year to John Danby.

And the Chester keeper again pipped the Nantwich keeper, appearing at number 5 in the Non-League Paper’s review.

But the Non-League Paper described Brain as “one of the best stoppers outside of the conference”.

Meanwhile, Nantwich have arranged their first home pre-season friendly with Altrincham at the Weaver Stadium on July 14, kick off 3pm.

A week later, they welcome neighbours Crewe Alexandra to Nantwich, also kick off at 3pm.

They are also likely to host Port Vale, Macclesfield Town and Bala Town before the league season kicks off on August 18.

Dabbers boss Jimmy Quinn said: “I am delighted with the fixtures we have been able to put together as nearly all are with teams from a higher, or similar level to us.

“I believe these games, although friendlies, will provide us with a stern test and be the ideal preparation, especially with the new players we have brought in.”
