Fire crews tackled a kitchen blaze at a farmhouse in Nantwich.

The blaze broke out in a range-style cooker in the property on Wrinehill Road.

Crews from Nantwich and Crewe were sent to tackle the incident which happened shortly after 1am yesterday (July 8).

They used one hose reel water jet to extinguish the fire and then a large fan was used to clear the smoke from the property.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “More than half of accidental fires at home are started by cooking.

“Please find out how to keep safe while you are cooking and what to do if a fire starts in your kitchen.”
