Blyth FA Cup - Nantwich Town's Weaver Stadium, pre-season games, community football

By Robert Summerscales
New loan signing Nicky Platt could make his debut for Nantwich Town against Marine tonight.

The 25-year-old midfielder has signed on a month-long deal from FC United of Manchester.

Dabbers duo Josh Lane and Jon Brain are also available for the Evo-Stik Premier League clash at the Weaver Stadium.

Both received straight red cards earlier this month, but their bans do not come into effect until March.

Paris Bateman, who is due to return to Crewe Alexandra next week, is sidelined through injury.

Nantwich go into the game buoyed by Saturday’s impressive 2-0 win at Worksop Town, which ended a run of five consecutive defeats.

Manager Jimmy Quinn is hopeful that result will give his side the momentum to finish the season strongly.

“To perform that well and to win away at a team that are challenging for the play-offs was brilliant,” he said.

“We have played very well in our last two games and the win at Worksop has now given us something to build on.

“Hopefully, we can continue on in the same vein and finish off the season in a positive manner.”

Marine are unbeaten in their last four meetings with Nantwich.

They are fourth in the table, despite failing to record a win in their last five matches in all competitions.

Kick off is 7.45pm
