Two South Cheshire businesses have raised almost £400 by competing in a charity football match for Children in Need.

Crewe & Nantwich Peugeot dealer Gateway Motor Company lined up against a team from Mornflake, Crewe Alexandra’s shirt sponsors.

Families turned out to watch the game at the Cumberland Arena, with youngsters able to meet special spectator Children in Need mascot, Pudsey Bear, who was collecting donations.

Gateway’s general manager Alex Walker said: “We’re a dealership full of footy fans and we wanted to host a charity match to kick-off our fundraising for Children in Need.

“The match was an exciting encounter even though we were beaten 3-0 by Mornflake.

“We want to say a huge thank you to all of our family, friends and customers who came to cheer us on from the sidelines and dug deep for the cause.”
