Police, paramedics and the North West Air Ambulance were called to an incident on a housing estate in Nantwich.

The helicopter, run by North West Air Ambulance, landed in a field at the back of Bishops Wood off Audlem Road, close to housing.

The helicopter landed at around 11.20am and was there for about an hour, leaving at about 12.30pm in the Chester direction.

One eyewitness said: “I saw a red air ambulance landing in the field to the side of Bishops Wood and the crew have gone into the estate.

“The helicopter took off, heading towards Chester, at about 12.35pm. There was police and road ambulance activity also on Bishops Wood estate but getting back to normal now.”

A spokesman for Cheshire Police confirmed that officers and paramedics had responded to an incident earlier today in the Bishops Wood area.

“We can’t say much more at this time due to the nature of the incident,” he added.

  3. As unfortunate as it sounds I think there was a fatality. Forensics and CID also seen at the house, aswell as police photographer, later on the undertaker was also there.
