XCELL street dance crew – 4th place

Members of a South Cheshire dance school have been competing in the UDO World Street Dance Championships 2014, writes Jonathan White.

The ‘XCELL’ street crew, part of Miss Caroline’s School of Dance in Wistaston, competed in the under 14s age class at the SECC Glasgow.

And they did the region proud, finishing fourth at the championships overall.

Alex Worley competed in the solo category and was second in the world. Alex is also a team member of XCELL.

Participants were judged on factors including timing, technique and difficulty of routine.

They are all members of Miss Caroline’s School of Dance and train twice a week at St Mark’s Church in Wistaston.

Some members are also participating in the European Championships in Germany in 2015.

Caroline Foxley, founder and principal of Miss Caroline’s School, said: “I am so proud of XCELL, Alex and their teacher Jack Robinson. They are all so dedicated in their training.

“They are an inspiration to our younger XCITE crew and all our other talented street dancers and dancers.

“I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them as they return to the studio for their next routine!”

‘Showcase 2014’ will be presented by Miss Caroline’s School Of Dance at Crewe Lyceum on Saturday November 29.

The evening will feature styles such as ballet, tap, modern and street.
