winter - key workers testing - COVID-19 deaths - MCHFT careers fair at Leighton Hospital

Leighton Hospital hosted a ‘Leighton’s Got Talent’ show and Christmas party to help raise money for the £1 million MRI scanner appeal.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity appeal to add another scanner to cope with soaring demand across Crewe and Nantwich.

The ‘Leighton’s Got Talent’ show saw talented staff from the hospital performing a range of entertaining acts, including comedy, street dancing, singing and much more.

Charity manager Laura Riddle said: “It was great to see staff at Leighton Hospital supporting the scanner appeal and we are so grateful for the time and effort that everyone put in.

“A good time was had by all and most importantly, a fantastic £287 was raised for the appeal from ticket sales and the raffle.”

The appeal is also running its successful ‘Send Us Your Elfie’ campaign right until Christmas.

The campaign encourages participants to put on their best elf or Christmas outfit and take a selfie, post it on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, and nominate their friends, family and colleagues to take an ‘Elfie’ using the hashtags #MCHCElfie and #TeamElfie.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity is hoping everyone who posts an ‘Elfie’ will donate up to £10 by texting ‘ELFI12’, along with the amount they wish to donate to 70070.
