dishwasher fire funding cuts fire service, cylinder blast fear in Shavington

Fire crews were called to a blaze in a garden of a house in Stapeley, Nantwich.

One hose reel was used to extinguish the fire which started on a fence on Hawksey Drive.

The fire, which started shortly after midnight yesterday (February 13) is believed to have been caused by smoking materials.

In a separate incident, crews were called to a house on Main Road in Shavington to tackle a chimney fire.

Firefighters had to use a thermal imaging camera to check the area after putting the fire out at 4.30pm on Thursday (February 12)
