Heritage opera La Traviata

The Heritage Opera is returning to Nantwich Civic Hall next month, with its production “La Traviata”.

This version of Verdi’s tragic love story, considered to be the most popular opera ever and set to a beautiful and instantly recognisable score, takes place on Monday March 16.

It is sung in Italian with English subtitles.

The story, based on Alexander Dumas fils’ play La Dame aux Camelias, is of a famous Parisian courtesan Violetta, and her tragic love affair with Alfredo.

Bernie Lafontaine, of Opera Novella, as musical director and his chamber ensemble are joined by a Heritage Opera cast that includes Sarah Helsby Hughes as Violetta,
Nicholas Sales as Alfredo and baritone Mark Holland making his Heritage Opera debut as Giorgio Germont.
