memorial to airman Arthur Brown in Nantwich

A Nantwich mum is hoping to trace a couple who found and handed in their daughter’s missing iPhone.

Julie Pemberton, from Stapeley, is keen to thank the good samaritans who found daughter Emma’s iPhone 5s near the Airman’s Memorial (pictured) by the River Weaver.

Emma, a pupil at Highfields School, lost the phone as she was chasing after her two dogs Riley and Tia.

Despite ringing it constantly, it went dead and they assumed it had been lost for good.

But 24 hours later they received a call from the O2 shop in Crewe to say a couple who found it had handed it in safe and sound.

“Emma was running after the dogs near to the Airman’s Memorial when she realised her phone had fallen from her pocket,” said Julie.

“Her dad (Chris) called it a few times to see if they could hear it, but to no avail.

“She was very upset as she keeps in touch with her school friends on iMessage outside of school.

“This afternoon (April 22) however, I received a call from the O2 store to say a local couple had handed in the phone and we can collect it when we are next in Crewe!

“We know she has been extremely lucky for it to be handed in and would love to say thank you to the couple as they didn’t leave any details in the store.

“Emma is so keen to send them a little thank you for being so kind!”

Are you that couple? Or know the people who found the phone and handed it in?
