Cholmondeley Pageant of Power 2015, photo competition

The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power event near Nantwich is inviting visitors from previous years to share their best CPOP shots.

Organisers of the June event, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors, say the best snaps will have the chance to win tickets, VIP parking and a helicopter ride.

This year’s CPOP will celebrate ‘power’ on land, air and water.

Events during the June 12-14 weekend include a 1,000bhp-plus class on the famous Cholmondeley track, the world’s only flying Vulcan, and a display from the Red Bull Matadors Aerobatic team

In addition, the festival will celebrate the Lotus marque on Friday, American Muscle cars on Saturday, and Eighties Supercars on Sunday.

Headline music acts at the 2015 CPOP event are the Rick Parfitt Jnr Band on Friday night and former X Factor contestants Tenors of Rock on Saturday night.

And budding photographers can show off their skills in the new competition for the chance to win prizes.

Entrants should send through their best shots from previous CPOP events, that capture the spirit, power and excitement of the weekend.

Images can feature any of the action across the weekend, from on track action and air displays, to live music performances and water activity.

The best picture will be chosen by a panel of judges and the winning photographer will receive a pair of tickets for Saturday, a VIP parking pass and a helicopter ride for two over the festival site.

James Hall, event director at CPOP, said: “We wanted to run a photography competition to not only see some of the great pictures taken year after year by our visitors, but also take a look back at the event over the past eight years, as seen through the eyes of the spectators.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing and sharing the entries from the general public.”

Entries should be sent to [email protected] or submitted via Twitter @PageantofPower or Facebook by midnight on Friday May 15.

Full terms and conditions are available online here.

CPOP takes place at Cholmondeley Castle, near Nantwich. Adult tickets are priced from £26 and children’s tickets are free if purchased before April 30.

  2. I’d like to go, but with tickets at £27-37/day/person, I think I’ll pass.
