Band and Drum Corps of Cheshire Constabulary

A concert featuring four community choirs and the Band and Drum Corps of the Cheshire Constabulary will be held in St Mary’s Church, Nantwich.

The event is to take place on Saturday July 11 at 7.30pm.

There will be a varied programme of music to suit all tastes.

The choirs, based in Madeley and Nantwich, were set up by Choral Director Chris Hale five years ago and include singers of all levels.

Simple Harmony, who rehearse on Monday evenings at the Regents Park Conference Centre on London Road, Nantwich, is a learning choir.

Dolly Mixture comprises 16 ladies who enjoy singing in close harmony.

Simply Allsorts has grown from 20 to 70 singers in the past few years and now enjoys singing all kinds of music from African and gospel to swing and jazz.

And Singcopation is a small acappella jazz group formed from singers all over the region.

There will be almost 100 singers combining to bring their love of singing to the audience.

They will be working with the Band and Drum Corps of the Cheshire Constabulary under the direction of David Woollam.

The Band and Drum Corps of the Cheshire Constabulary were in action on Saturday at the launch of the Overwater Wheelyboat project at Overwater Marina, near Nantwich (pictured, above).

Tickets are are available from Chris Hale by email on [email protected], the shop at St Mary’s Church in Nantwich, the Madeley Centre, and the village shop at Betley.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £4 for young people under the age of 16.
