Nantwich Fete and Skoolzfest

Nantwich is gearing up for another big day of family entertainment as SkoolzFest and Nantwich Fete arrive in town.

Talented children from across the town will be performing the Big Sing as part of SkoolzFest tomorrow (July 4).

It is the third year that Nantwich schools have gathered to exhibit their musical talents.

The organising committee alongside Nantwich Education Partnership (NEP) have ensured 15 local schools will take part in the Big Sing on the town square at 10am.

Children will parade from St Mary’s Church through to the town centre, where it will be showcased on the stage, giving everyone a chance to see.

This will then lead into various performances from the town’s school children.

Young Voices will perform at midday, and the popular Battle of the Bands from 2pm.

St Mary’s Church will be host to The Journey Man Story Telling Workshop and performances for the day.

And Nantwich Museum will host an exhibition, called “Our Town”, which will feature artwork collected from all the schools.

Alongside SkoolzFest, organisers are putting on a host of activities for the family.

Around the town and St Mary’s Church there will be fairground rides, stalls, games, coconut shy, tombola and free Punch and Judy shows.

And local Scouts will be showing off their zip-wiring teddies outside Nantwich Church.

There are plenty of refreshments on offer at the Parish Lawn, through to toffee apples, ice creams, popcorn and candy floss.
