Liam Livingstone (right) man of the match against Marple

Record-breaking Nantwich CC batsman Liam Livingstone is up to his old tricks again.

The Lancashire player smashed 142 not out from just 77 balls – including 34 from one over.

His amazing knock earned him man of the match as Nantwich cruised to an eight-wicket victory against Marple CC at Whitehouse Lane.

Livingstone also starred with the ball, claiming two for 31.

He ably supported star bowler Jimmy Warrington, who devastated the visitors taking 6-79.

Nantwich’s reply was cut short by rain at 21-1. But when they returned, Livingstone took charge.

He proceeded to smash a century in 69 balls to move them to 155-2.

And there was nothing Marple’s attack could do as Livingstone hit 17 fours and 10 sixes.

In one over, he hit five 6s and one 4.

Livingstone made headlines in the cricketing world back in April, when he hit 350 runs in 138 balls in the first round of the National Club Championship against Caldy CC.

It’s believed to be the highest recorded one-day score ever.

Today’s victory for Nantwich maintains their charge towards the Cheshire County Premier title.

They remain in second place, just one point behind leaders Toft CC, in the ECB Cheshire County Premier league with five games to go.
