Campaigners in Wistaston are urging residents to fight a housing developer’s bid to build on Witter’s Field.

Gladman Homes is going to appeal over their second application for 300 houses on the village’s green area.

Members of Hands Off Wistaston (HOW) have called on villagers to lodge their objections to the planning inspectorate before December 15 deadline.

A HOW spokesperson said: “Once again, it’s really important that we all contact the planning inspector to demonstrate how much the field means to the community and needs to be kept free from development.

“Along with local councillors, we met Cheshire East Council Leader Michael Jones about the Planning Inspector’s decision to allow the Harlequin application off Wistaston Green Road to go ahead.

“We have been informed that Cheshire East are going to challenge this and seek a judicial review.

“We’ll bring more updates as we learn more details.”

Wistaston residents keen to object to the Witter’s Field bid should email [email protected] and quote appeal reference APP/R0660/W/15/3136524 and planning reference 14/3024N.
