Elle Morris, 10 wishes, going to Santaland

Nantwich cystic fibrosis sufferer Elle Morris has achieved the latest of her 10 wishes – by becoming the face of a national campaign.

The nine-year-old, of Wrenbury Road, Aston, penned 10 wishes when her family discovered a life-saving double lung transplant carried serious risks.

One of those wishes was to promote organ donation in the UK in the lead up to her 10th birthday on January 29.

And the Cystic Fibrosis Trust has made this happen by making Elle the star of the show in their Christmas campaign.

Serena Wilson, Cystic Fibrosis Trust community development and fundraising manager, said: “We are pleased we have been able to help Elle to tick off another wish at such a difficult time for her and her family.

“Elle is helping us to raise extremely important awareness for organ donation.

“The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is investing in cutting-edge research to develop treatments and life changing therapies to help shape a new future where everyone born with cystic fibrosis can look forward to a life unlimited by their condition.”

Elle and her mum Becky were dealt a major blow when specialists told them of the risks associated with a double lung transplant, due to deterioration of her lungs.

The Stapeley Broad Lane pupil was diagnosed with CF at 15-months-old.

Elle’s mum, Becky Whitfield, said: “We are completely overwhelmed with the support that Elle has received through our campaign since we heard the devastating news that a transplant would carry severe risks.

“Elle has taken everything in her stride and is now helping others with cystic fibrosis by raising awareness.”

Elle has managed to complete many of her other wishes, including meeting stars Olly Murs and Rita Ora, attending the X Factor final, going on holiday, taking part in a fund-raising cycle ride, make a music video and be a princess for a day.
