Nantwich councillors use budgets for pupils to watch Rusty Robot show

Nantwich Mayor Councillor Andrew Martin has been dishing out tickets for the town’s youngsters to see Santa’s Rusty Robot.

Cllr Martin has used his ward budget to fund children from Nantwich to attend the show.

Rail passengers in Nantwich have been left high and dry for a week with all services between Crewe and Shrewsbury cancelled for engineering work.

Services stopped on Saturday (November 28) and will not be back on until Monday December 7.

A new local history book has been launched at Nantwich Museum.

The book, called “Cholera in Nineteenth Century Nantwich” by Keith Lawrence and Graham Dodd, was inspired by historian James Hall.

The heavy rainfall took its toll on the Crewe Regional Sunday League with half the games postponed.

In the Premier Division, there are new leaders as Square One took advantage of the postponements to move above Railway Hotel with a 3-2 win over AFC Leopard.
