Hundreds of families gathered in Nantwich with their beloved pooches to enjoy the Doggy Day Out fundraising event.

Nantwich Marina hosted the event, organised by Redshift Radio, to help raise funds for Elle’s Wishes and Crewe & Nantwich RSPCA.

Elle Morris, 10, from Wrenbury, suffers cystic fibrosis and is on the transplant list for a double lung transplant.

Her mum Becky Whitfield set up the Elle’s Wishes campaign last year to help Elle’s 10 wishes come true.

And dog owners joined in the spirit at the Doggy Day Out, despite the erratic British weather.

The day was jam-packed with doggy fun, including a Treasure Hunt, a Biscuit Catching Competition, and a Fun Dog Show with great classes such as Most handsome boy, Most gorgeous girl, Best old timer (over 8 years), Best puppy (under 1 year), Best trick, Scruffiest dog, Best doodle, Best rescue dog, Waggiest tail and Best young handler (child under 12).

And there was a special class “Cockerpoo Elle would most like to take home” which was judged by Elle (pictured, above).

One of her wishes was to own a Cockerpoo but is unable due to her medical condition.

The show was sponsored by Hibberts Solicitors with prizes donated by HJ Lea Oaks.

There were also stalls and activities including inflatables, paintball, face painting and canal boat rides.
