Wyche Dog Show, RSPCA Stapeley Grange wildlife centre fun day

Residents across Cheshire helped raise thousands of pounds for Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre and Cattery in Nantwich at its family fun day.

They turned for the event in large numbers to enjoy a series of events, and also provided raffle prizes, and donated items for stalls.

Hundreds of people went to the day at the centre on London Road, keen to support one of the largest animal centres in the country.

Activities included a cake bake-off, a dog show, ferret racing, face painting, a bouncy castle, archery and various stalls.

Lee Stewart, manager at Stapeley Grange, said: “We were delighted with the response from the public and the support of the local community.

“Once again our supporters did not disappoint and it was a great day.

“As well as raising around £5,800, part of which was matched by Barclays £4£ scheme via their team at Radbroke Hall, we were also given an opportunity to showcase our work and to generate more support with individuals and companies.

“The cattery was also very busy so we are hoping that some of our cats will find new loving forever homes.

“Currently we have more than 1,000 animals in our care so this money really does help.

“The team would like to thank everyone who supported us, both individuals and companies. Their support is very much appreciated.”

The Stapeley Fundraising team also held a fund-raising car boot sale on Sunday (July 17), adding to the funds raised.
