Neil Sorvel - Nantwich Town FC Appoints a new managerial team

Neil Sorvel was pleased with the Dabbers 2-0 win over Warrington Town in the FA Trophy.

Goals from Osebi Abadaki and Curtis Jones gave Nantwich victory in a tricky game against tough Cheshire rivals.

And Dabbers assistant boss Sorvel was happy to see the Dabbers progress in a competition which saw them reach the semi-final last season.

“It was a clinical performance, I thought.

“I felt we were always in control of the game, the only way they were going to score was from a mistake from us or a set piece.

“I’m delighted for us to go through.

“It’ll be tough for us to have as a good a run as we did last year, but we still want to make progress in the competition.

“The defence have done really well again, they looked really solid.

“There aren’t too many occasions I can think of where we’ve kept consecutive clean sheets, so I’m made up for the lads at the back.

“Their in good form at the minute and long may it continue.”

Sorvel also praised Abadaki who he feels has worked hard on his finishing to add more goals.

“Ossie has been working on his finishing and working on some of the runs he’s been making.

“He’s made a good run on to the ball, gone in and executed, so I’m pleased for him.

“He stays behind after training, he works hard trying to improve his game. He could have had a couple more as well.”

And Sorvel believes Jones, who scored at Warrington the last time out, is always a threat at set-pieces.

“He’s the one out of any of the defenders who looks like he can go in and attack the ball, so I’m pleased for him to get on the score sheet.

“That’s something a centre half can add to their game if they can go up the opposite end and cause issues in the box and be able to finish.

“It’s another string they can add to their bow.”
