The Very Best In Stand Up returns to Nantwich Civic Hall this Friday November 4 with four top side-splitters.

The first act of the evening is Smug Roberts – a Manchester comedian to rank alongside his local pals Peter Kay and Johnny Vegas.

His acting performances and credits in television and films include Bafta award-winning TV shows Mrs Browns Boys, Buried, Cold Feet, and Phoenix Nights.

He’s also featured in the films “Looking For Eric” (Dir Ken Loach) and “24 Hour Party People” (Dir Michael Winterbottom).

Next act is Yorkshire funnyman Tom Wrigglesworth.

This Sheffield-born comic has a disarmingly charming delivery and unforgettable appearance.

He became a national have-a-go-hero when he rescued an old lady from the jaws of a Virgin train ticket inspector – only to be arrested for begging.

His story of the event secured several awards, including the Chortle Best Show Award, and a nomination for the main Edinburgh Comedy Award.

This led to a sell out tour of the UK, and runs at the New Zealand Comedy Festival and prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival.

Final act is circuit legend Paul Tonkinson (pictured), a sensational live performer, marathon runner and former (double award-winning) Time Out Comedian of the Year.

With a unique and distinctive style, Tonkinson is noted for his effervescent physicality and skilful impressions.

He brings alive exuberant, tender comic reflections on love, family and the day-to-day idiosyncrasies of 21st century living.

Following his 50-date solo UK tour, he played to a wider audience, joining the mighty Michael McIntyre as a special guest on live shows around the UK.

The compere for the evening is Kiri Pritchard-McLean.

One of the UK’s fastest rising stars, Kiri has been making something of a name for herself in the short time she’s being performing.

A finalist in both the Amused Moose & Mercury Comedian of the Year awards, Kiri was also nominated for ‘Best Compere’ at this year’s Chortle Awards.

The show takes place on Friday November 4 and tickets are on sale now priced at £10, from the Civic Hall direct or online at www.civiccomedy.co.uk

A limited number of table reservations are available to groups of six or more.

Doors open at 7.15pm and the show starts at 8.15pm.
