34th South Cheshire Militaire held at Malbank School, Nantwich

The 34th annual South Cheshire Militaire show took place at the new venue of Malbank School & Sixth Form College in Nantwich.

The show is organised by the South Cheshire Military Modelling Club and included scale-model Army, Navy and Air Force club displays.

South Cheshire firm Mornflake is supporting Change4Life in a bid to slash the amount of sugar consumed by the region’s schoolchildren.

The company, founded in 1675 and known worldwide for its oat-based breakfasts, backed the initiative after it launched a new sugar-free granola.

A 19-year-old Crewe man was jailed for life today for stabbing his South Cheshire victim to death through the heart.

Oliver Dabbs was found guilty of the murder of Stephen O’Brien, 51, following a 14-day trial at Chester Crown Court.

More than 93% of parents in Cheshire East have been offered their first choice secondary school, today’s 2017 admissions figures show.

This is 9.6% better than the 2016 national average of 84.1%.

More than 2,400 motorists have been caught by Cheshire Police driving while using a mobile phone so far in 2016-17.

The startling figures were released on the day penalties issued for such an offence double in severity.
