Young theatre goers in South Cheshire are in for a treat when Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom Live Stage Show comes to the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe.

Based on the BAFTA award winning television series for pre-schoolers, the show follows Holly, a young fairy princess and her best friend, Ben the Elf.

Lauren Martin plays Holly and says she is delighted to be back performing at The Lyceum.

“It’s a lovely theatre, very intimate. As a performer you can see and feel the presence of the audience which is great,” she says.

“In this case, the audience are children who can get very excited about seeing their favourite TV characters on stage.

“We’ve had some really good responses. They shout out our names and get really involved with the singing and dancing.

“The costumes are designed to look like the characters on the show and we work hard to sound like them too, so the children recognise them and they respond to this.

“It’s so lovely, they really do believe that we’re the characters from the TV show.

“I’m very lucky! It’s magical playing a fairy princess. I love it.”

Lauren believes that the stage show is suitable for children of all ages.

“It’s a fun, interactive and colourful show.

“There are plenty of songs and dances.

“I’d describe it as a truly magical show that everyone could enjoy.

“If you’ve got little kids, come along. They can never be too young. I promise, they’ll be mesmerised from the very beginning.”

Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom Live Stage Show is at The Lyceum on Tuesday April 4 at 1pm an 4.30pm and Wednesday April 5 at 10am and 1pm.
