Unemployed people in Crewe and Nantwich can retrain and work in the beauty industry under a free Cheshire East initiative.

The authority is bringing in training company Vita, set up in 2014 to run personal training and nail technology courses.

Under the scheme, Vita will offer fully funded Level 2 Beauty Services courses to help the unemployed get back into work.

The Level 2 Beauty Services is a specialised qualification which enables those out of work to qualify as a beauty specialist.

Those completing the training could work in salons, become a self-employed beautician, or even work on a cruise liner!

The 5-10 week courses are being run in different locations across Cheshire East, over one or two days a week.

Since 2014, Vita Skills has grown into a nationwide training provider offering a range of qualifications and accredited short courses.

The company was short listed as finalists for the Salford Business Awards.

A spokesperson said: “Vita’s team has grown considerably over the last two years with all tutors being industry professionals with years of experience and knowledge.”

The next course starts at The Crown Plaza on Tuesday May 23, the course will run one day a week for 10 weeks.

It is free for anyone living in the Cheshire East area and who is in receipt of certain benefits, JSA, ESA, Income Support.
