Burglars smashed through a roof of the Premier Store in Wistaston and stole thousands of pounds in cigarettes.

Detectives are appealing for information after offenders targeted the convenience store on Kings Drive.

The break-in happened between 11pm on Friday (August 18) and 5am on Saturday (August 19).

Cheshire Police said offenders broke into Premier Store after breaking a hole in the roof of the building.

Once inside the building, the suspects stole a large quantity of cigarettes before fleeing the store through the roof.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Investigations in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are following a number of lines of enquiry, including forensics, analysing CCTV images and speaking to local residents.”
