Pupils, parents and staff from a Stapeley school teamed up to pound Barony Park in Nantwich in aid of charity.

Youngsters from Pear Tree Primary led the way in the fitness fun event, with the help of Keith Hancock from UK Triathlon.

All proceeds raised from the sale of calendars will go to Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity and help pay for recliner chairs for the Cardiac Ward.

Residents have hit out after historic Monks Lane in Nantwich was damaged in an apparent vandal attack.

Coping stones were found scattered on the floor and pushed away from the wall edge along the ancient walkway close to the town centre.

Cheshire East confirms asbestos fears amid Macon House blaze

Roads were closed, shops shut and areas evacuated amid the Macon House blaze because of asbestos contamination fears, Cheshire East Council confirmed today.

Macon Way and Grand Junction Retail Park were reopened at around 11am today following the fire which broke out in Macon House yesterday shortly after 4.30pm.
