Fashion Haus - Dabbers Den Winner 2017

A Nantwich businesswoman who runs The Fashion Haus has been named winner of this year’s Dabbers Den business competition.

Eliza Burgis is the founder and driving force behind the online women’s fashion company.

Eliza saw a gap in the market for unique beautiful clothing and coupled with her passion for fashion decided to launch a company that sold the clothes she wanted to buy.

The Dabbers Den judges were impressed by Eliza’s initiative and determination and also her sales success since starting the company in January this year.

Eliza said: “I honestly cannot tell you how much this means to me and my business.

“I am absolutely ecstatic, I can’t even begin to express this in words.

“I’m truly just so grateful for this opportunity.”

The Dabbers Den competition is now in its 6th year and 2017 saw the highest number of entries.

Shortlisted applicants were invited to pitch their business plans and ideas to Judges in the Den.

The Fashion Haus will receive £5,000 cash top prize, as well as 12 months accountancy and business mentoring from Howard Worth Accountants and a Business Legal Health check to the value of £2,500 by Poole Alcock Solicitors.

Mike Doherty, a partner at Howard Worth, said: “It was refreshing to see a young entrepreneur with such enthusiasm for what she does.

“Eliza is proof that by working hard, doing something you love can really pay off.

“We hope she uses this win to bolster her confidence and it enables her to push her business to the next level.”

Runner up in the competition was Su Turner, of Insight to Impact Consulting with Shaping Governance® which supports governance in schools and charities.

She receives six months support and mentoring from Howard Worth Accountants and a free legal Business Health check from Poole Alcock Solicitors.

Third place went to Bluestone Information Management Ltd – who provide data protection training to businesses.

They receive six months support and mentoring from Howard Worth Accountants and a free legal Business Health check from Poole Alcock Solicitors.

The ‘Dragons’ Den’ style competition is run in partnership by Howard Worth Chartered Accountants and Poole Alcock Solicitors, with support from NatWest and Cheshire East Council.

The Dabbers Panel consisted of Mike Doherty, Partner at Howard Worth, Scott Harding, Partner at Poole Alcock, Natalie Taylor, NatWest Bank, & Councillor Peter Groves, Cheshire East Council.
