Pear Tree Primary youngster Oriana Preece used her drive and determination to make a difference by running the fund-raiser.

Nantwich Jazz Festival 2018 to go ahead in memory of founder Phillip Martin

Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival organisers are pressing ahead with plans for next year’s event and hope to make it the ‘biggest and best yet’ in memory of its founder Phillip Martin.

Mr Martin, who was proprietor of The Crown Hotel, established the festival in 1996 and was well ahead with plans for Easter’s music programme when he died of a heart attack aged 65 in November.

The Cheese Room at Nantwich Museum has been redecorated and redesigned thanks to a grant from Nantwich estate agents Baker Wynne & Wilson.

Christmas has come early to friends in a Nantwich school choir and band after receiving a £1,000 donation towards their trip to Venice.

The money, donated by The County Group, means Brine Leas School Choir and its Concert Band, can look forward to a trip of a lifetime next summer.
