man released - sexual assault - river weaver near Wall Lane cordoned off by police

A 19-year-old Nantwich man arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault in Nantwich has been released without charge.

Cheshire Police confirmed today the complainant, aged 21, has now withdrawn the allegation.

Officers had cordoned off an area by River Weaver off Manor Road after receiving a complaint shortly before 3am yesterday (March 26).

The complainant was supported and interviewed by specialist officers.
