Mike Gunn - comedy bumper bill

The latest “The Very Best In Stand Up” promises to be a bumper bill of hilarity at Nantwich Civic Hall on Friday May 4.

Promoters have secured a line-up to rival the best clubs in the country – for just £10 a ticket.

First act is the fantastic Mike Gunn, a familiar face from TV after starring alongside comedy favourites like Michael McIntyre, Harry Hill and Al Murray.

Early in his career Mike was supporting the likes of Jo Brand and Alan Davies and recently supported Lee Mack on his huge UK tour.

He now headlines at all the top comedy venues in the UK and is rapidly reaching cult status on the circuit.

He has performed internationally, taking his talent to Hong Kong, Ireland, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand, and Saudi Arabia and to Australia at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where he completed a five-week sell-out season.

The next act is Australian comedy powerhouse Damian Clark, who burst into the Irish and UK comedy circuit in 2005.

After several acclaimed TV performances in Australia plus two prestigious comedy awards under his belt, Damian moved to Ireland where teaming up with fellow comic Andrew Stanley.

He wrote and co-starred in RTE TV’s I Dare Ya, which was the highest rating debut of an Irish TV comedy show to date.

Last up is firm audience favourite in Nantwich, Carey Marx, who has been a circuit favourite for years, mixing his own blend of dark humour with his mischievous and gleeful delivery.

His wilful disregard for the controversial and delicate is tempered beautifully by his ability to find joy in the most unexpected places.

This hilarious mix of edgy topics and playful gagsmithery can be seen at all the top clubs with Marx regularly playing Jongleurs, Komedia and The Comedy Store and annually compering the largest festivals.

Compere for the evening is Sam Avery, who has been playing the big clubs for years but in recent times is better known as ‘The Learner Parent’.

After the birth of his twin boys, Sam started a blog which turned into a best-selling book.

And he’s just announced a solo theatre tour!

As a ‘stay at home dad’ in the day while gigging at night, Sam put his hilarious observations to page & the awards and critical acclaim quickly followed.

The show takes place on Friday May 4 and tickets are on sale now priced at £10, available from Nantwich Civic Hall or online at www.civiccomedy.co.uk

Doors open at 7.15pm and the show starts at 8.15pm.
