Police have closed the A500 between the M6 and Nantwich as fire crews tackle a lorry blaze.
A large amount of hay being transported by the lorry is on fire, and large plumes of smoke are covering the Shavington bypass carriageways.
Drivers are facing traffic delays after an accident closed a busy South Cheshire route.
It happened on the A5020 near Weston, Crewe, at around 9am today (July 10).
Nantwich drivers who witnessed a serious road accident at Weston are urged to contact police. The crash, which happened on the A5020 Weston Road, near to Crewe Hall, involved two cars.
