Crewe and Nantwich Athletics Club athletes enjoyed success at a recent cross country championships event.
Five of the club’s athletes qualified for the UK Counties Athletic Union Inter Counties Cross Country Championships in Wollaton Park, Nottingham, on Saturday (March 9).
Crewe and Nantwich athletes and organisations have been awarded grants of up to £500 by the Everybody Foundation.
The second round of grant awards saw 12 dished out, including supporting local athletes to represent their country in competitions and sporting clubs to have new equipment.
More than 80 Crewe & Nantwich AC athletes took part in the annual Cheshire Track Relays at Crewe’s Cumberland track.
And dozens came away with medals after another strong performance by the host club.
Young Crewe and Nantwich athletes excelled at the UK Sportshall national finals at SportCity in Manchester.
Under 13 boys and Under 15 girls teams from Cheshire, which won their regional finals, competed against the UK’s best.
Young Crewe and Nantwich athletes excelled at the North West sportshall finals for U13s and U15s.
Twenty-one athletes from Crewe & Nantwich AC represented Cheshire as they competed against Greater Manchester, Cumbria, Merseyside and Lancashire.
Crewe and Nantwich AC athletes produced fine displays in the mud and rain at the Cheshire Cross Country Championships.
There were excellent individual and team performances at the event at Birchwood Forest Park, Warrington.
Young Nantwich and Crewe athletes helped Cheshire power to victory in the North West counties sportshall finals.
Eleven U11 boys and girls from Crewe & Nantwich Athletics Club were chosen to represent Cheshire who competed against, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside.

Hardy athletes battled strong winds and rain to compete in the Cheshire Triathlon in Nantwich, writes Jonathan White.
Hundreds took part in a 200 or 500m swim in the outdoor brine pool, a 20km bike ride, and finishing with a 2.5km or 5km run around Barony Park.
