Nantwich police are warning homeowners in the town to be on their guard after five burglaries in the same area in the past month. The latest two break-ins happened on the same street within hours of each other on Stonebridge Road, Nantwich, on Sunday (November 17).
A sneak-in burglar stole goods from a Nantwich home on Remembrance Sunday – while the owner was still in the house. The thief walked in through an unlocked door at the property on Cherry Tree Court, in Stapeley.
A Nantwich man has been arrested in connection with an incident in which part of a man’s ear was bitten off. Detectives are appealing for witnesses to an altercation which happened outside a pub in Crewe.
Detectives are probing links between three burglaries on elderly people, including one in Wrenbury near Nantwich. One of the raids has left a 107-year-old householder seriously ill in hospital after she confronted the burglars.
Three people from South Cheshire have been charged with human trafficking and a fourth with money laundering. The charges follow an extensive investigation by Crewe CID and the Gangmaster Licensing Authority. Officers executed warrants at five addresses in Crewe. Four men and two women were arrested.
