I asked earlier this week: Is anyone else questioning the allocation of the dedicated schools grant, due to be ratified at next week’s CE’s Children & Families Committee? That meeting was held – and the answer is no.
Just to clarify the situation for everyone, the grant money has been allocated at three different rates based on deprivation factors.

Shavington has opened a new “Warm PlacCEs” facility at the village hall after the parish council was awarded a grant.
It opened up with a Bingo afternoon and offers a place for families struggling to pay fuel or food bills during the cost of living crisis.
Nantwich looks set to get a new skate park facility on the Barony after the project received a £100,000 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.
The money will be used to create a multi-wheeled sports facility which will allow skateboarders, scooters, roller skaters and other park users access to an enormously improved facility at Barony Park.

Some of this money is now coming to Cheshire East.

A £5.799m government grant for potholes is welcome but “will not even begin to scratch the surface” of the £180m backlog of repair work, Cheshire East’s deputy leader said.

Cheshire East Council will drive ahead with scaled-back plans to improve bus services despite the government putting the brakes on some schemes by refusing grant funding.
The council had put together an ambitious bus service improvement programme (BSIP) in the hope of securing funding as part of the government’s national “bus back better” strategy.
Cheshire East Council is inviting businesses to apply for funding of up to £6,000 through the government’s Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant scheme.
The scheme provides one-off grants to support eligible rate-paying hospitality, leisure and accommodation businesses experiencing difficulties because of the Omicron coronavirus variant.
Cheshire East Council and its partners have been awarded a grant of £647,000 to support the new Domestic Abuse Act which was signed into law in April.
The new act means councils must ensure victims and their children can access life-saving support in safe accommodation.
Crewe will benefit from a £22.9 million Government grant as part of the new Town Deal scheme.
Politicians welcomed the news today as further funding to help revamp the town, including transforming facilities like the former Flag Lane Baths, Cumberland Arena and Mirion Street Youth Club.
