Cheeses produced by apprentices and industry delegates at Reaseheath College won a haul of awards at Nantwich’s International Cheese Show, proving cheeses manufactured locally are among the best in the world.
Thousands braved the rain and mud to enjoy another spectacular Nantwich Show at Dorfold Park.
And as these pictures show, the weather did not put people off taking in the wide array of events, exhibitions and marquees on offer.

The boss of a cheese maker in Nantwich said it was a “real honour” after they scooped eight golds at the International Cheese Show. Mike Heler, of Joseph Heler Cheese based in Hatherton, was celebrating after the company scooped an amazing 22 awards in total.

A local cheese producer will be exhibiting more than 100 cheeses at the Nantwich Show next week (July 31). And Joseph Heler Cheese, based in Hatherton near Nantwich, will be hoping to scoop some top awards at the 2013 International Cheese Awards.
Cries of “Oyez, Oyez” will be heard across Nantwich when the town stages the second annual Town Crier Competition. Fifteen criers from the across the UK will battle it out on Saturday July 27 to win the coveted Town Crier’s Shield.
The British Cheese Board has awarded the prestigious Nantwich Show Cheese Industry Award to Craig Mitchell. Craig, operations manager at Lubborn Cheese in Somerset, takes the annual title awarded during the International Cheese Show at Nantwich’s Dorfold Park.
Organisers of the biggest annual events in Nantwich have called off the event because of the wet weather. Nantwich Show will not go ahead as planned on July 25 as Dorfold Park is waterlogged, with forecasts predicting more rain over the next 10 days.
Organisers of next month’s Nantwich Show are promising another record-breaking event. Around 36,000 visitors poured through the gates of the show at Dorfold Park in 2011, and directors hope this year’s remains the top one day event in the UK.
