Cheshire East Council must ensure bus routes are provided to Leighton Hospitals when it reviews the services it supports, councillors have said.
The council currently spends £2.5 million a year supporting bus services which are not commercially viable but are deemed important and socially necessary.

I wrote to Cheshire East Highways: “Flowers Lane, near Leighton Hospital is now closed, so could the traffic light for Flowers Lane be turned off to help traffic flow? Cars are taking ages to get through.”

Leighton Hospital bosses have applied to Cheshire East Council for permission to extend ward 26 at the maternity department and build a modular operating theatre.
Ward 26 is the main birthing facility at the Crewe hospital and the department has been in its current location for about 40 years.
