A ‘Celebrate Harvest – Pumpkins, Plants and Pollinators’ event was held at St Mary’s Church in Acton, near Nantwich on Sunday.
Inside the church, “Tea at the Tower” embraced harvest with drinks and cakes, craft and harvest exhibits, a harvest pollinator quiz, a folk band and Acton Academy displays.
More than two dozen Nantwich residents armed with forks, spades, trowels and secateurs teamed up to fight for a cleaner and greener town.
The volunteers came together to clean up historic Monks Lane this week.
Residents have called for action on a “dangerous” junction near Nantwich which has seen three accidents in three days this week.
The latest incident happened yesterday (February 15) at the junction of the A534 with Monk’s Lane and Cuckoo Lane, at Acton.

Visitors enjoyed the sixth annual ‘Christmas Tree Festival’ at St Mary’s Church on Monks Lane in Acton.
The event was free entry, with donations received towards church funds, and allowed visitors to view 40 beautifully dressed 6ft Christmas trees.

Councillors have given the go ahead for a former farmhouse in Audlem to be used as a wedding venue despite claims the noise will impact on residents including those in a nearby care home.
The application for the change of use of The Parkes on Monks Lane in Audlem had been deferred in February so a noise assessment could be submitted.

‘Tea at The Tower’ guided walks are taking place every month from St Mary’s Church on Monks Lane in Acton, near Nantwich.
The walks are at a relaxed pace and routes mainly involve canal towpath and lane walking but may involve stiles.

Councillors have deferred an application to use a former Audlem farmhouse as a wedding venue until a noise assessment is done.
Cheshire East planning officers had recommended the scheme at The Parkes, off Monks Lane, be approved.
St Mary’s Church on Monks Lane in Acton have organised ‘Holly Holy Day’ Battle of Nantwich events this Saturday January 22.
The church will be open from 9am until 11:30am serving hot drinks and buttered toast.

The Christmas Tree Festival takes place on Saturday December 11 (10am-4:30pm) and Sunday December 12 (12-5pm).
A fire in a building in Nantwich was started by a faulty light fitting, say Cheshire fire crews
The fire broke out in a property on Monks Lane in Nantwich at around 5pm on Thursday (February 20).
Acton Operatic Society will perform the show-stopping hits of Rodgers & Hammerstein in a fund-raising concert on January 25.
The concert will be held at St Mary’s Church on Monks Lane in Acton, 7.30pm start.
