Hundreds of families gathered in Nantwich with their beloved pooches to enjoy the Doggy Day Out fundraising event.
Nantwich Marina hosted the event, organised by Redshift Radio, to help raise funds for Elle’s Wishes and Crewe & Nantwich RSPCA.
Work to repair and restore Grade ll listed Nantwich Aqueduct will begin on September 14.
The £200,000 restoration project, which will take eight weeks, is being paid for mostly by public donations of £135,000 to the Canal and River Trust.
Planned restoration work to Nantwich Aqueduct has been postponed to avoid disruption for local businesses in the summer.
The delay will also allow more funds to be raised to carry out additional repair work to the landmark spanning the A534.
Cheshire Wildlife Trust has unveiled a new information point to celebrate one of Nantwich’s rarest wildlife residents. A specially-commissioned oak display gives visitors along the Shropshire Union Canal an insight into the life of the water vole.
