New commemorative plaques in place on Nantwich buildings

More plaques have been installed on landmark buildings in Nantwich to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

The new plaques are on Nantwich Civic Hall, Chatwins Bakery (formerly Ye Olde Wyche Theatre), the large building on the corner of Pillory Street and Hospital Street (formerly Chesters’ store), Nantwich Museum and next to the town bridge on Welsh Row.

New plaques to mark Nantwich landmark buildings for Jubilee

Five new plaques will be unveiled marking landmark Nantwich buildings as part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations this summer.

The plaques have been put together by Nantwich Civic Society, and will add to ones they first installed around 20 years ago around the town

Angry villagers have appealed for help after heartless thieves stole historic war memorial plaques from a church in Bunbury near Nantwich.

Police say the brass plaques were prised off the gates outside St Boniface Church last weekend.
